THE GOVERNMENT OF RWANDA IN EXILE: APPOINTMENT OF A NEW MINISTER OF INTERIOR, SECURITY AND LOCAL DEVELOPMENT
I. The Resolutions of the Government of Rwanda in Exile’s cabinet meeting of 19/11/2017
On Sunday November 19th, 2017 the Government of Rwanda in Exile’s cabinet held an extraordinary meeting in Paris (France), chaired by His Excellency President Father Thomas NAHIMANA.
Two points were on the agenda:
1. Strengthening the government institutions
2. Discussing the Ministry of Justice’s achievement report
After exchanging ideas on the matters, members of the cabinet made the following resolutions:
1. Members of the cabinet commended the achievements by the Ministry of Justice, especially regarding the preparation of indictment cases against persons suspected to have committed serious crimes against the people of Rwanda, to be handed to the People’s Tribunal for trial. Members of the cabinet requested the Minister of Justice to speed up the activities, to do all the necessary and submit to the cabinet a list of irreproachable and qualified candidates for the appointment of a new Attorney General.
2. Members of the cabinet approved the appointment of Mr. Joseph NAHAYO as the new Minister of Interior, Security and Local Development. Mr. Joseph NAHAYO will be sworn-in within seven days.
II. Who is Mr. Joseph NAHAYO?
Mr. Joseph NAHAYO was born on November 12th ,1973 in SAHARA Cell, BUSOGO Sector, MUSANZE District (Ruhengeri), Northern Province. He got primary education in BUSOGO and went to SHYOGWE for secondary school. He holds a graduate diploma in social work obtained from the Haute Ecole de la Communauté Française de Belgique de Mons and a master’s degree in social and economic politics from the Université Catholique de Louvain.
Mr. Joseph NAHAYO is married and a father of 3 children. He is a serious, committed and worthy of trust person.
His goal is: to get rid of fear and assist others to fearlessly rally with the “exploited people” to liberate themselves from “the extravagant clique of oppressors”. This is the appropriate time to rise as one people and liberate ourselves because none else will struggle on our behalf.
We wish him to successfully accomplish his mission.
